Article Resume about Tanabata
Tanabata is Japanese star festival which is held on August. Tanabata is a festival that celebrates the meeting of Orihime (Vega) and Hikoboshi (Altair) who can only meet in once a year. It can be meant that in this festival if we hope something we want it can be granted in this year. In Edo period, most of their wishes are for girls wished for better sewing and craftsmanship, for boys they wished fro better handwriting, they do it by writing the wishes on stripes of paper. At this time, they are writing the wishes on a Taro leaves and using ink. The festival also include an Obon or Bon traditions, it is a festival which is a person strikes a drum so that the people can dance while they are heard the sound of the drums. Most of Tanabata’s festivals also involve Tanabata decoration competition for each region. There are also include a parade and Miss Tanabata contests which is directed for the girls who wear the cutest yukata. And like the other Japanese festival, Tanabata festival also have many outdoors stalls sell food like takoyaki or okonomiyaki, provide carnival games, and the other things that usually appear in festivals.
